However, this is not a 'true upgrade' as the 3400c had the same style
and case design as the first PowerBook G3. The DTT upgrade is merely
a motherboard swap of the original G3 with the 3400c. A better
bargain than the original 2400s but at a speed of G3/250 now, the
1400 and the (if you can find them) remaining Newer 2400 are better
deals (supposing you have the corresponding computers).
Some people on the PowerList have reported great success with the DTT swap.
Although... ogrady.com reports that the 2400c may have new CardBus
functionality in OS8.6/PC card manager or some combination thereof
*without* a hardware hack.
