due to the rash of, and recurrences of, GV problems with the combo card, i'm
strongly considering purchasing separate cards for each function. what i
really need is ethernet for now, so that's a priority for purchase. the
modem is not too relevant.

i know some people swear by the tdk ethernet cards; has anyone had one
working with os 9? or the modem cards?

i know a lot of modem cards will work without drivers, but which one. i'm
attracted by the 3com units, (which one's work with the mac os w/o drivers)
as the thought of having to carry 2 dongles bothers me. (yes, i know some
people who have broken the popup (x-jack), but i like this functionality.
thoughts, opinions, and suggestions?
