Hello-

I'm brand new to this list, but own two duos--a 230 (mine) and a 280c
(wife's) and a dock and newly-purchased minidock. This dock has a
pass-through port for the internal modem. Unfortunately, its port is not a
RJ11 port, but an 8-pin serial port. It appears that I need some adapter to
connect it to the phone lines. Does anybody have an idea of where I could
get such an animal, and the prospective cost?

Second question. My 230 has never been able to sleep. When I try to spin
down the hard drive--either manually, or by sleeping--I get the following
warning: "A disk has been remove (sic) that is currently in use! Please put
it back..."

I bought the duo used, and it's formatted with Silverlining software. Is
this my problem? If so, how do I remove the driver. I've tried Apple's
software, both old and new. The old won't let me, and the new won't even
launch. Is it possible my drive is incompatible with the computer? Any
suggestions.

I'm sorry to pound this list with my first post, and hope these aren't some
kind of faq, and that I'm just adding noise. Thanks in advance.
