Your Duo has to have the modem built-in. It is the connector on the left side
as you look at the back of the Duo. Or, I would presume that if you have a
standard RJ-11 US modem built-in but have an international dock, it will still
pass through the internal modem to the European plug. This box plugs into the
modem connector (or pass through connector) and simply converts to the specific
phone connection for the country. It should still work in Poland as long as you
use the appropriate phone connector adapter that you can pick up at most
luggage stores. In this case, you'd use a U.K. to Poland converter. External
modems do not necessarily translate to faster modems due to the limited speed
of the internal data bus. I've found my 14.4 internal modem is just about as
effective as my external 56k modem for surfing. Downloads are a different
matter, however.
