I recently purchased a reconditioned Smart & Friendly CD Speedwriter
Delux Recorder at
http://store.yahoo.com/smartandfriendly/cdreccdrewre.html for my
2400. It works great. It uses a regular SCSI-2 interface and is
reasonably fast for the price. The IDE Recorders are internal units.
If you do not have any other SCSI peripherals, you'll need to get a
SCSI adapter for your Powerbook. The software comes on a CD-Rom so
if you dont have a CD-Rom Drive, find someone who does and then
transfer the software to a ZIP disk or floppy disk in order to
install the driver onto your machine.
