Recently read that Sonnet is offering a G3 upgrade for the 1400 for $399.99. (http://www.sonnettech.com/product/crescendo_g3_pb1400.html) I recently e-mailed them a note begging them to consider doing the same for the 2400. In the note I made the following points: 1) In spite of the fact that fewer 2400 than 1400's were sold the porportions of 2400 still in use is most likely greater as 1400 owners have an ungrade path we don't. As an orphaned size factor there should be a sufficient market for a Sonnet G3 for the 2400. 2) Given the scarcity of competent 2400 techs many of us are very familiar with opening our 2400s to install memory, drives and CPUs. So installing the upgrade should not be a barrier to marketing one. Additionally there are at least two companies with good reputations in the 2400 market who would be happy to offer the sale and install of the upgrade. 3) I promised I'd buy one. What the heck, lets all beg. If you got a few minutes it couldn't possibly hurt to ask. Feel free to use your own points or paraphrase mine.
