Hi Beth,
Taking apart the 2400 is a true test. There are many
odd sized screws(thanks IBM) and you must be grounded.
I followed the instructions at Mac2400 under
"Hardware/Processor Upgrade"
http://webobjects.uwaterloo.ca/mac2400/
Remember to follow the instuctions and go slow. Try
not to touch any trace or chip. I will not open my
2400 again. If I ever need to get into it, I plan on
paying MCE to open it. With parts rare and expensive,
I don't want to take the chance of destroying it. If
you do send it to MCE, that would be a good time to
have your CardBus activated.
Good Luck,
ShaneW
