Well, I took a deep breath, layed out all my tools, and, with static
strap dangling from my wrist, performed open-case harddrive-ectomy.
It took me over an hour - I went very slooowwww - and I had my husband
acting as step by step instruction reader and occasional 3rd hand. The
patient seems to have come thru intact. I am now in the process of
installing the new system (OS9) which, due to the 2x speed of the CD
reader, will take some time. I now have two partitions, 2GB and 3.7GB. I
will be testing to see if I can still put it in SCSI disk mode.
So, thanks to everyone for all your advice and encouragement!
regards,
beth
