There are no screws so I ended up splitting the case using a dental disk on
a handpiece. You could do the same with one of those Dremel (sp) drills and
a thin cutoff disk. I suppose a very thin hacksaw blade might work. 

Once open, fixing the wire is a breeze. I taped mine together. It's ugly,
but it's under the couch as my backup charger, now. . .
