I'll second that. In fact, for maximum speed and compatibility with
older applications 7.6.1 is another option. 8.1 is great for compatibility
with the latest printers and application versions.
In a retromod move, I recently dropped all the way back to 7.1.1 from
7.6.1 on my Duo 280c. I cannot believe how quick this computer is now.
