Thanks zvi.

Time for embarrassing confessions. Re the lack of link to the profiles - the
Journal I was looking at had changed the stylesheet and there was no 'head'
icon next to the username. I *knew* what I was seeing looked odd, but until you
pointed it out, I had completely blanked on the lack of head icons. It would
have been a while before I realised what was missing...

And yes, when I select 'light style', I can see heads, and access the profiles.

Sorry for the confusion! And thanks for pointing it out to me, and clarifying
on the merge OpenID/DW account issue.

I know a few of the answers, but not all of 'em.

3. (This is actually what prompted me to post this!) How can I view another
OpenID user's profile?

I was scanning through some of the comms and reading comments, when I saw a
comment from someone I thought I knew and wanted to check their profile. Their
username was an OpenID (from LJ), but they had an icon so I naturally assumed
that they had a DW presence, ie a profile page. However, when I clicked on
their username [theirname.livejournal.com], I was told that no such user exists.

To see an OpenID user's profile, click on the swirly grey eye w/ orange pupil
next to their username   in the same you'd click on the little userhead icon
to see a regular user's profile. When you clicked on their username, you should
have been taken to the URL they're using as an openid, i.e.
http://theirname.livejournal.com/ Were you taken to that URL (it's not DW's
fault if they delete their lj) or were you taken to an internal DW page? You
might want to follow up on that with domtheknight (she gets bug reports.)
