Sorry - my first writeup was unclear. When I spoke of the maintainers  
authorizing imports (either for all members or some members, either  
freely or handshake), I meant the maintainers of the DW community  
being imported to, not the other-site comm it's coming from.

Basically the idea was to let them block me importing my posts from a  
community with a different topic into their community. Nothing to  
block me taking my posts from LJ. Just to say I can't put (say)  
several hundred kitty pictures in a cooking community. That was what I  
was thinking anyway.

As far as proving I'm a...@lj, how is it done for personal journal  
imports? I assume it'd be similar.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind a full community import and it's simpler -  
but if it's a big problem, this seemed like it would at least get some  
of the situations addressed. It's not an all encompassing solution  
even if it could work; people who don't use DW or have even stopped  
using LJ obviously wouldn't be doing this. But if a full import isn't  
available, then what other options are there?
