It appears that the USPS and the bulk mailers came to an agreement that will allow the USPS to raise rates on June 30th. The first class rate will indeed probably go up three cents to $0.37. I went through the rate filing (R2002-1) and could find nothing regarding air mail rates. Remember last time there was a delay in air mail increases. I would expect the same this time, i.e. an increase in rate but after the first class increase. 73, Dennis K2SX ----- Original Message ----- From: "Steven Wheatley KU9C" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "dx qsl" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; "DX Reflector - SUBMIT" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Friday, March 22, 2002 3:56 PM Subject: [DX-NEWS] US SASE postage increase
> Folks, it appears we're heading for a 37 cent first class stamp in the near future, likely by June 30'th from what I've read, for domestic mail. Thus, remember this as you send in SASEs, as given the time lag to getting cards out, etc, one you send today could easily require an extra 3 cents to return to you. > > Also, has ANYONE HEARD of a corresponding foreign postage increase from the 80 cents (60 cents Canada/Mexico) that is in place currently? While I don't seen anything definitive, it's clear that a lot of the postage rates are going up. I've got a query into the USPS...but if anyone gets a heads up, please let us (and ME!) know! > > 73 > Steve > > > --------------------------- > Steve Wheatley KU9C > PO Box 5953 > Parsippany NJ 07054-6953 > U.S.A. > > email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > http://www.ku9c.com/ > > ------------------------------------------------------- > Subscribe/unsubscribe, feedback, FAQ, problems, etc > DX-NEWS http://njdxa.org/dx-news > DX-CHAT: http://njdxa.org/dx-chat > > To post a message, DX NEWS items only, [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Archives http://www.mail-archive.com/dx-news%40pro-usa.net/ ------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe/unsubscribe, feedback, FAQ, problems, etc DX-NEWS http://njdxa.org/dx-news DX-CHAT: http://njdxa.org/dx-chat To post a message, DX NEWS items only, [EMAIL PROTECTED] Archives http://www.mail-archive.com/dx-news%40pro-usa.net/
