David, Just curious about your beacon comment... since there are times when the only signals on 6m are beacons, why wouldn't you want to know?
Of course, spotting beacons when the band is wide open is just poor judgment on the spotter's part. 73, Bob W5OV -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of K2DBK - David Sent: Saturday, August 09, 2008 12:07 PM To: Paul van der Eijk Cc: DX4WIN Reflector Subject: Re: [Dx4win] Grid format question in packet comment fields Paul, One other thing, as long as we're talking about these types of spots. I've got a feature request: I'd like to have it so that "beacon" spots (optionally) aren't announced. It's pretty common to see stuff like: DX de VE7SKA: 50068.0 W7RV/B CN88GT<ES>DM35 1654Z and while it's sometimes good to know, personally I don't find it all that useful to "hear" the beacon spots. As far as I can figure out, this can't be done currently by tweaking the spot patterns, but please let me know if I'm wrong.
