The one problem that many have found with USB to serial ports is the inability to transmit 7 bit code. Consequently they do not work sending FSK. I and others on the Writelog Reflector have tested many USB to Serial adapters and found they will control the rig, control ptt but do not send FSK. Most will use the same IRQ for the various functions.
I presently run MMTTY from the Programs Menu Option so I need that FSK capability. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Al Bailey" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, November 30, 2002 12:34 PM Subject: [DXBase] USB to Serial > I have tested the Comtrol USB to Serial port on the following and they all > work with no problems. > > Yaesu FT1000MP > Kenwood TS-2000X > Alpha 87 > Hy-Gain DCU-1 > Kantronics KAM > > The installation was painless and they seem to work on any port I select. > The one I used belongs > to a friend of mine, N8SNM, and I just purchased one of my own for $128.69 > to the door.
