Ok First read the section in the Help File under CW Interface, Windows Registry. Go to System, Device manager, Ports, double click on each Ports and get the I/O address for ALL comports. You do that by accessing the Resources. For instance my com 1 I/O range is 03F8-03FF (you only need the first octet for the registry) Copy them down for all com ports and then following the instructions in the help file make sure they match what is in the registry. Modify as needed.
Make sure that DriverX.vxd and DriverX.dll which should be in your DXBase directory are copied to Windows, System32, Drivers subdirectory. Now you will have to reboot. Remember, XP will not use the printer port anymore for rig ptt or cw. You must use a com port or get the little kludge called Userport that the guys on the Writelog reflector use to enable lpt for cw/ptt. Stick with com ports if you can. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Steve Bertsch" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, January 13, 2003 9:30 PM Subject: [DXBase] Re: WinXP & com ports I installed WinXP Home Edition over WinME and everything went fine but now my two serial com ports 1 & 3 are not working. Com 2 is the modem. I'm being told other programs may be using them. I use my Ten-Tec Pegasus on com 3 and my RASCAL interface on com 1. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
