Bill,

I read the CW help section in Dxbase and then went to where the
settings are located in the registry but there is no DriverX sub
folder when I work my way through the registry starting at
Hkey_Local_Machine and so forth down to where the Services folder is
and then the next folder should be the DriverX folder according to the
cw help section. Since Dxbase 2003 was already installed and then I
upgraded to WinXP Home Edition does this mean I need to re-install
Dxbase to get those entries to show up in the registry? I have the 2
DriverX files in the Windows\System32\Drivers folder now as well.

You do have to reboot.
If you have done this there is one trick that should be checked.

Go to System, Hardware, Device Manager.
Click on View, Select Show Hidden Devices.
Go to Non Plug and Play Drivers
Make sure DriverX is listed.
IT 'MAY' SHOW DriverX and disabled.
Choose Action and Enable

That may help.
I think the Enable is sort of like Registering a .dll.
