This is a known problem with DXbase.  I have DXbase 2001 and experience the 
same problem.
It happens if you have the Internet window running and lose the connection 
but the window stays open.  The open dropped connection window slams the 
CPU to a continuous 100% load on my WinXP Home Ed running on an AMD Athlon 
Thunderbird 1.2ghz CPU.  That's a pretty good trick as I've never had any 
amount of normal system load slam this CPU to continuous100%.  Close the 
internet window and the problem goes away.
