Al,

Try putting quotes around the names with spaces in them ("DXBase 2004"), and
make sure that all your slashes are backslashes.

Subject: [DXBase] Copy question ?

| I have a dumb question but please regard the source. :) :) I am developing
| a batch file
| to backup all my data in DXBase but my directories contain spaces. Here is
| a example.
|
| copy C:/Ham/DXBase 2004/*.ini G:\DXBase 2004 Backups\*.ini
|
| This command does not work due to the spaces. Is there a work around short
| of renaming
| the directories ?
|
| I am using XP Pro for the operating system. I thought I had to name
| directories longer than
| eight characters such as this ? DXBase~1 instead of DXBase 2004 ?
|
| Thanks in advance for any help.
