I have forgotten passwords on both e-gold and goldmoney.
Both reset passwords for me.
E-gold was very thorough and sent a physical letter to my address, after
some discussion via email.
Goldmoney was very prompt and quick, resetting via email. So long as your
email is safe this is fine, I kind of prefer e-golds level of paranoia.
Use the lost password link, the quicker the better.
If you had fake contact details or the thief (if there is one involved) has
changed it already, then you are a little more stuck.
In the case of fake details I think you have very little chance of
recovering.
In case it has been effectively hijacked by someone else, this is not
e-golds fault and I am sure they will be of every assistance in your legal
efforts against the person now in control of the account. You still have
little chance of getting it back if the person had half a brain when it
comes to shuffling the gold.
here is to hoping you just lost the passphrase.
In the meantime any chance of 1mdc or similar offering an account based
solely on PGP keys where account# = keyid ?
