I understand ADI may not license under GPL the firmware.
I had unfortunately envisaged that logically the license owner of the
embedded OS could not agree.
But this is not the only solution.
eagle-usb linux driver need to have right to distribute the firmware under a
license agreement.
Even if GPL is the prefered solution, it is not the unique one. As the
firmware don't run under the CPU powered by the linux OS, other licenses
agreement can be accepted.
Having a valid license to distribute the firmware is the primary concern.
ADI should have the possibility to concede this right or even the windows
driver can't be distributed.
So it should be easy for the legal department to clarify this problem by
providing a acceptable license for the firmware distribution.

The second concern is firmware interface documentation.
To my understandig, ADI is there the rights owner. So it is _only_ a
question of will to share the knowledge to ease product use and solve
technical issues.
