That's the way Mandrake manage releases ; as soon as they work on a newer release, they stop upgrading packages for older releases. They have contributors for small apps, but not for big stuffs like KDE or GNOME, neither for new kernels.
Now I've installed a 2.4.25-9mdk kernel and everything works well, though I feel there are too many messages in the log when I plug in the modem. I tried rmmod eagle-usb && modprobe eagle-usb too : no problem. See log appended FYI. SYS, Didier
