I agree that the GUI editor should be left out of IntelliJ.
For those who need a GUI editor, try Netbeans (http://www.netbeans.org).
It seems to me that it generates "reasonable" code... at least much better
than JBuilder. Now, I want to stress that I haven't tested it much
myself... this is just a feeling I got from quickly looking at it so don't
flame me if you disagree... but by all means express that here on the list
(...just don't flame me!).
The biggest plus with Netbeans is that it seems to me to be completely free.
