OK -- let me rephrase my understanding of the problem. You can
connect to the system using Client Access PC5250 Emulation, but you
cannot connect using Client Access Operations Navigator. When you try
and start the *CENTRAL server on the iSeries, it fails.
-- Can you provide the specific error you get on the PC when you
attempt to connect, and let us know if it happens before or after you
have entered your user and password.
One thought .. enter the command NETSTAT from the command line, and
take option 3. This will show you the port statuses. One of the
command keys (?F14) will toggle between the service name and the port
number. If something else is trying to talk on the port in question,
this will tell you what.
Another thought .. perhaps the *CENTRAL server is hung .. try
ENDHOSTSVR *CENTRAL and the STRHOSTSVR *CENTRAL
Thanks ..
