Right: I understand that there are two PC's: "PC-local" is your XP box,
running echoServer and EchoVNC; "PC-remote" is your 2k3 server running
EchoVNC and some version of VNC Server. I just wanted to confirm:
1. When you "Start a VNC Connection" from EchoVNC on PC-local, do you
at least get to the VNC password prompt? Or does it fail before then?
2. Exactly what version and flavor of VNC Server are you running on
your 2k3 server? As you probably know, EchoVNC does not come with
it's own VNC Server, though it does come with it's own VNV Viewer.
thanks,
Scott

I recently tried to connect to another 2k3server in a different
location,
and I get the same problem, it drops right after it says
connecting. The
echoserver log shows "no data" twice, the echoserver shows an open
relay for
the connection attempt, and a few minutes later I get the error box
(not
verbatim) do you want to reconnect to 127.0.0.1:xxxx ?
I'll try 1.2pre02 and see what happens.

Just to confirm: you get to the VNC password prompt, and after you
connect, the session immediately drops, correct? If so, exactly what
flavor
of VNC Server are you running on the remote 2k3 server?
thanks,
Scott
