Subject: FTGS Call for Papers
CALL FOR PAPERS
The Feminist Theory and Gender Studies section (FTGS) invites
proposals for papers, panels and roundtables for the 38th Annual
International studies Association (ISA) convention to be held in
Toronto, Canada, 22-26 March, 1997. The conference theme is "Coping
with Insecurity: Threats More Than Enemies." FTGS especially
encourages proposals for papers, panels or roundtables which deal
with any of the following topics: gender, security and insecurity;
feminist methodologies and research methods; gender and global
transformations; gender and international conflict; women's movements
and activism around the world; gender and foreign policy; gender and
international political economy; sexuality and world politics; men
and masculinitie; gender and the environment; women's health;
intersections of gender, race and class; and gender in cross-cultural
perspective.
The deadline for proposals seeking FTGS sponsorship is JULY 1, 1996.
1. Papers -- Individual paper proposals require name, affiliation,
address (including phone number, fax, and e-mail), ISA and FTGS
status and a 500 word abstract describing the paper. Papers will be
organized into panels by the program chairs.
2. Panels -- Panel proposals organized around a specific theme should
include either 4 papers and a discussant or 3 papers and 2
discussants. Proposals require names, affiliations, addresses and
500 word abstracts for all papers and a general abstract of the
panel.
3. Roundtables -- Roundtables proposals for a focused discussion of a
specific issu should include 4-6 participants. Proposals should
include names, addresses and a 500 word abstract of the roundtable.
4. Discussants and Chairs -- Please send us your name and topics of
interst if you are intersted.
