++Angela, I cannot believe you wrote this. Empowering women does not mean
filling women with hate and resentment for men. It's about teaching women
that they have the power to have equality to men in oh so many areas,
including empowering women to address major issues of change in society,
empowering women to say no to rape and subjugation and to take a role in
trying to address the increasing breakdown in society (men seem to think
that capital punishment and jail are answers to crime - so we fill our jails
and kill those who have killed) Empowering women is about moving in on men's
control in many areas (for the object of betterment) and giving women back
their self respect and power of determination over their own lives and
society in general.
Female power has been usurped by males over time and also this has been
entrenched in the system. We need to change this and we need our daughters
to be empowered to address the problems in the system and to help bring
about change.
This change will be for the betterment of all. Males will have to change to
accomodate the way women wish to be treated. We need changes to education
from the earliest years...men have to be educated that women are equals and
worthy of respect and compassion. Women have to be allowed to become policy
makers not
policy followers or we will not bring about the changes we need so badly

First, I agree what you are saying about empowerment. I want to appologize
for my outburst - I do not know why I got so defensive and spent about it -
afterall you are right - I asked for proof and you provided it - what I have
been trying to say - apparently not eloquently enough is that there is a
problem - and this is it:
WE NEED TO LOVE, HONOR, RESPECT AND CELEBRATE THE FEMININE FACE OF CREATION
MORE WHENEVER POSSIBLE!
This IS the solution - I know you are doing everything Margueritte to help
woman and I think that is wonderful and you stand up for yourself wonderfully
- I respect and honor you for that - keep up the good work - It is an uphill
battle - however, it is my sincere belief that Chris has the right answer -
start thinking about what you think the Feminine face of creation is - start
figuring out ways to get the message out:
Empower people with a vision of celebration of equity!
Women are as Divine, Sacred, Honorable, Respectable and worthy of as many
rights and honors and etc., etc. as Men - no and if or buts about it - in
every aspect of life ESPECIALLY in Religions - I agree - but I just regret
that you are pining women against men and not women and men against men who
misuse POWER - Men in embedded religions misuse power - greedy men - misuse
power - Now we have to fight that misuse - The problem with not incorporating
spirituality into Ecofeminism is that the real problem is Spiritual - and no
matter how well intentioned we may be. The problem is that people blashemy
the Holy Spirit of Creation - no one told them the spirit was male - men/women
are really being sinful in this regard!
I like what you are saying about equality - I like equality. I do not like
reverse discrimination - very unproductive - so lets not exclude men in this
battle -We need all the warriors we can get to keep figuring out ways to get
the message out:
The feminine face of creation is here to stay - here she is in our hearts, in
our minds, in our spirits (mind/body/spirit)- love her, honor her, respect her
and she will love and protect you!
