Darrell,

The act of 'REGISTERing' a transaction in GENTRAN is what makes that
transaction available to then establish 'partner relationships'. The key to
a map is established when it is registered and is comprised of the standard
type (X12), version (4010), and transaction (855) ... all of this
information is store in the map header detail. When the 855 map in question
was created it should also have been designated as either an import and
export map. If any of these values in the map header are not what they are
expected to be, the map could have been registered in a way that prevents it
from 'showing up' where you want it to allow the partner relationship to be
established.

I'd suggest checking the values in the map header details, make changes
where appropriate, re-compile and re-register then try and setup the partner
relationship.

Hope this helps.

Subject: Gentran Server question

I'm working with a partner that has a situation:

He can write an 855 outbound map and register it, but is having problems
enabling the trading partner to use it. He can't set it up. He says the
only outbound transaction sets available to use for the partner are 997 and
one other one. How does Gentran allow a partner to use a transaction? Is
there some sort of import with Gentran or install for different
transactions?

Any help will be appreciated,
Darrell Hughes
