Just being picky here, it wasn't my question, I just gave my opinion
that Ultra Edit is a good tool if you use windows, cheap and
multi-purpose, with the added value of hex editing capabilities, which I
find most helpful. I also use Word or notepad sometimes for other
reasons, or whatever I can get my hands on. I just like the
capabilities of UltraEdit.
I don't have any interest in Ultra Edit other than as a user.

Oh..... but Ultraedit is everything notepad is and more. You can't view
hex
data in notepad which is essential sometimes with separators. Plus
Ultraedit
will scroll large files quickly and even multiple large files at the
same
time.
