Chris, You should keep the data for dispute resolution for up to 5 years at least. Also, I would not recommend using an EDI translator that comes with the ERP system. Don't waist money on that piece! There are many EDI software companies that work very hard to provide EDI translator solutions and they masters in their field. My opinion is that the EDI translator product should be outside of the ERP system, but should still integrate with the ERP system. What if you change ERP Systems later? What if you have to upgrade the ERP system? Make EDI platform independent!
