Barbara, We find that Medical Supply industry trading partners that adhere to our standards committee (HIBCC) recommendations often can be serviced with generic maps. Perhaps supply chain in your industry hasn't discovered the benefits of standardization.
That said, some TPs want what they want for no apparent reason, and others have actually built more utility into their requirements, so not all TPs can be serviced with generic maps. Then there are those who still want version 3030. ;) <product plug>The flexibility and power of Softshare Delta make it easier to include logic that allows variations within a single map.</product plug> Art Douglas Manager, eCommerce Systems PaperPak San Dimas, CA 909-971-5025 -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Barbara Sent: Wednesday, April 26, 2006 7:15 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [EDI-L] Generic TP Maps vs. TP Specific Maps - 856 EDI Documents Yes, once again I am still curious, I would like to know how many of you tend to lean towards a Generic EDI 856 Map for all of your Trading Partner, as opposed to a Partner specific Map for the 856 map, please keep in mine that this is one of the most complex EDI maps, and most trading partners have definite requirements for the 856. I appreciate any and all comments. Once again Thanks. .
