I owe the group an apology. I had no idea that the Pan American EDIFACT
Board had been dismantled, that's unfortunate.
I assumed that it was still in operation because I just worked a
project using CUSDEC 00B guidelines that read: "SOURCE: Joint Development of
the Pan American EDIFACT Board and the Western European EDIFACT Board" (see
http://www.unece.org/trade/untdid/d00b/trmd/cusdec_c.htm).
I even have a GXS Standards Overview Tutorial in front of me that describes
in detail the structure and activities of the PAEB, obviously the tutorial
is just as outdated as me!
So David is right, one must now travel all over the world to participate in
EDIFACT standards development. I wonder, Is DISA still participating on our
behalf?
Sorry,
Ricardo

Ricardo,

Can you provide some details about the "Pan American Committee"? I am

interested in finding out more about it as I am very active in
implementing UN/EDIFACT within Europe and Asia.

The only UN/EDIFACT Pan American committee I am aware of, since I was
the first chairman of it, that had official US participation was the
PAEB (Pan American EDIFACT Board). It was disband with the creation of
UN/CEFACT in 1997.

Klaus
