I have mostly seen the 862 Shipping Schedule should be used interchangeably with the 830 Planning Schedule. Some basics about the 862:
It Provides precise shipping schedule It is Intended to supplement the 830 planning schedule. Some items may supersede shipping & delivery in the original 830 but it is not intended to replace the 830. Very useful for Just-In-Time inventory. In the automotive industry, typically the recommendations are: For JIT use 830 for planning purposes only and 862 Shipping Schedule to for precise shipping requirements. For NON-JIT use just 830 for planning and shipping authorization The Material Release Issuer, Supplier or Ship From, and Ship To information transmitted in the 830 must match that in the 862 and the 856(ASN)" The quantities transmitted in the 862 should be within the horizon established by the 830. Regarding its relationship to the 850, one way it could work is you could create one blanket purchase order 850 (more like a contract) and then transmit the 862 for the precise shipping dates. If we were to derive a PO out of 862, what factors do we have to consider? Please share your thoughts on this topic. Thanks in advance for your help Cheers NB.
