Hello Paul, With your experience you can probably learn how to use a new translator in 1-2 weeks max. Many consultants have to do this every 6 months to a year. The key is to read the manual and look at working examples in your next job. Also a few basic programming principles/patterns/techniques are helpful. If you are in contact with your old colleagues maybe they can help you out with a few pointers and examples. Also, follow some online programming tutorials ...C#.net, Java, C ... you do not have to get too deep. Just make a couple of a programs that parse data and loop. This will also help you determine if you would like to get into hands on mapping.
