It could also refer to the old school practice of wrapping EDI data in 80 byte wide blocks. The mainframe translators I used to work with did this and I still have one partner who requires it sent to them that way. They are an FTP partner otherwise the VAN would do it for me. You take streamed EDI data and remove all the CRLF's and then you wrap it, insert CRLF, every 80 characters so it looks like a block of data. When I receive their data I have to remove all the CRLF and then it looks streamed and the translator will process it. Wrapping it 80 bytes wide takes another step or two.
So it depends on your context On Tue, Mar 1, 2011 at 11:12 AM, Todd LaBonte <[email protected] > wrote: > > > A copy of an EDI transaction that has the ISA/IEA, GS/GE or ST/SE envelopes > (wraps) removed. > > _______________________________________________ > > Regards, > > Todd LaBonte > > Phone: 231-933-7212 > > Fax: 231-933-7236 > > e-mail: <mailto:[email protected]> > [email protected] > > Blog: <http://e-supplylink.com/blog> http://e-supplylink.com/blog > > Web-site: <http://www.e-supplylink.com> www.e-supplylink.com > > e-SupplyLink exceptional Supply Chain Solutions > > From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of > Retail Edi > Sent: Tuesday, March 01, 2011 11:09 AM > To: [email protected] > Subject: [EDI-L] EDI Definition help?!? > > > What does Non-wrapped in EDI terms mean?? > > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] > > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] > > > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------------------ ...
