Michael, Thanks for your thoughts, they're the same as mine, though (on the one hand, but then on the other). And, I have just finished one 855 for another TP who does want multiple ACK's, which is why I'm in a quandary. It sort of makes sense to me either way. Since I'm not a mind reader and it's not in the IG and I can't call the TP (and won't be able to until something fails in production, not my favorite option), I'm seeking more experienced opinions. Oh, and I don't have any sample data that's anything other than a straight "okey dokey, you betcha".

Given the constraint... > I am not able, at this time, to ask the customer what they would like > (which is > what I want to do) so please don't suggest that. .. I'd wait for a time at which you ARE able to ask the customer. Thinking like the partner might think...... I might want one ACK loop (loop here will equal ACK seg only, no DTM) with ACK01 = "IC" meaning "one or more changes" .. so I look for all possible changes... for prices and qtys in PO1 (or ACK) and for delivery schedules in SCH(s). Then again, I may want one discrete ACK loop for each possible "type" of change.. one with ACK01=IC meaning "Check P01/ACKsSegment for price/qty chandes" and/or another ACK with ACK01 = "DR" meaning "check for delivery changes." That said, I have never seen an 855 with more than one ACK loop per PO1 loop. YMMV. Michael C. Mattias Tal Systems Inc.
