I came into a job back in 2003 and the company was using SeeBurger and SAP. I
had never even heard of SeeBurger. After one week the contractor that had set
everything up and been supporting it left. He was no help in training me as he
knew he was leaving and was bitter. I spent a couple days with a representative
from SeeBurger (thanks Gunnar) going over the entire product and was off and
running as a one man show.

Mapping was interesting for me at first because it was java-like and I am not a
programmer. Once I understood what was going on I fell in love with it. The
flexibility was awesome compared to the translators I had worked with before.

The connection to SAP was a no-brainer. They used the same terminology as SAP
and I don't remember having any issues with supporting it. Any issues I had
were always network related and not the translator or SAP. Recovery from those
types of errors was an easy re-process to push transactions back through.

The communications we used was a mix of FTP and AS2. I don't remember ever
having any problems with them and the new connections I setup were straight
forward.

After our company was purchased we had to integrate our SAP and EDI systems
into theirs. The support we got from SeeBurger was great (always was) and we
met a very demanding timeline.

I don't remember having any issues with reconciling 997's. I do remember
thinking the setup to make it happen was a little cumbersome, but once it was
done it worked. I honestly don't remember the process.

At the time I remember finding the documentation a little frustrating. I would
hope that has improved over the years.

If I were looking to change jobs and the company was using SeeBurger I would
put that in my Pro's column.

Leah-

It is great when you are happy with your product! I agree that the tool is
very different from other translator products that I have used, and yes,
functional acknowledgements are no longer an issue. :) We have solutions for
them for BIS5 users that can be implemented, and with BIS6 and the standard
S3B2B process that is typically used for EDI, there are absolutely no issues
generating/sending or reconciling 997s.

As an additional note, the SEEBURGER adapters for communication are far
superior than any others that I have seen. I was recently told by a customer
that she went to 2 weeks of training for her AS2 software and still had
severe difficulty setting up a new connection, but after 2 hours of AS2
training with SEEBURGER, she was setting up a new AS2 partner and testing it
on her own.
