I second it. Humor can be uplifting (or very insightful) or debasing (condescending). And bashing is almost always the latter. When a request is taken seriously the advice focuses on the helpful and the pitfalls of various courses of action. When humor is interjected it ought to produce a smile on our face and lighten our mood. When it becomes a negative, it defeats its purpose.

However, I have to say that your continual snide comments about women (whether made in gest or for real) are getting quite tiresome. None of the other men on this list feel it's appropriate to inject such women-bashing comments into our discussions - and none of the women on this list have ever made male-bashing comments. Frankly, just quit it! I'm really glad I have finally been able to take my own advice regarding participation in online fora such as EDI-L: "Take nothing literally and even less personally." Had I not taken that advice, I would be severly upset and depressed and would either take rat poison or "go postal." With that introduction, it is my considered opinion some of you need to "get a life", "lighten up" or both. Michael C. Mattias Tal Systems Inc. No woman I know would tolerate the obvious low esteem in which you hold us. Its a lovely sunny day here, lets not sully the list with your vitriol today.
