<Shock and Awe> I too, have served the healthcare, manufacturing and distribution businesses for a long time. I've found comparable 'business acumen' in all three, with 'the usual' variations between companies in the same line of business. I don't think you can paint "healthcare" as having any less - or any more - 'business acumen' than any other industry. That said, I've seen a number of "supply chain EDI experts" get into healthcare EDI, only to discover an '837' Claim/Encounter is *NOT* just another form for the 810/811 invoice and the 835 healthcare remittance is *NOT* just another form of the 820 commercial remittance advice - Different applications altogether. So ... you might say you can find less 'business acumen' among those who call themselves "Healthcare EDI guys" than among the "Supply Chain EDI Guys." My $0.02. Michael C. Mattias Tal Systems Inc.
