I'm not sure I understand these labels, but it might be some sort of translation difficulty, or else I just don't know much about business (that's certainly true....) <<< As you said I would like to figure out how much the "mean" image respondents have of their project leader, "scores" on these factors. I have the feeling that the factor "competence" is at the top place :) >>> Do you mean you want to factor analyse the factors? But you've made the factors orthogonal......(you said earlier you used varimax). You CAN average the factors, but I am not sure what you would have once you did it. I have the distinct impression that you are commiting one of the errors of people trying to get statistical advice....You've shown us what you did, rather than describe what you want. In my earlier post, I noted the difference between PCA and FA; it is not clear to me which you want. In fact, it is not clear to me that you want either of these. So, let's take a step back. You have ratings of bosses by a bunch of people on a bunch of variables. What do you want to get out of this? (Not what statistics do you want, but what do you want to discover? What are your hypotheses (if any)? What have others found when doing similar studies? etc. HTH Peter Peter L.
