I've never met a kid who wrote an iota of Smalltalk.  Do I conclude that 
Smalltalk was a failed R&D project, with lucky side-effects? I don;t 
need to.particularly, but can adjust my thinking if it better reflects 
the history.

The very successful people I *can* lunch with (and there are a few who 
will deem to have lunch with me) tend to have some sense and 
appreciation of right place, right time.
