Still waiting for my KPA-500 kit, so just a guess .... do you have CONFIG:KIO3 in your K3 set to "TRN", by any chance? It probably needs to be "nor", or maybe "HF-TRN", to feed the KPA-500 properly (see page 19 of the K3 Owner's Manual).
