I haven't been following this thread completely but I've been running
Skimmer and N1MM simultaneously via LP-Bridge for several years with no
problems.  Below is an example of them working together with an AutoHotKey
script which allows me to jump the K3 up or down to adjacent Skimmer decoder
dots with a mouse wheel.  A key aspect of this is that focus is always
returned to N1MM after frequency jumps.

My old Pentium IV (2.8 GHz) XP CPU and Audiophile 2496 typically run at
about 20-30% CPU utilization and I've had no problems with both N1MM and
Skimmer getting frequency information, as you can see in the videos.
