No, no, no! There is no Y adapter necessary. Connect one Aux cable from the K3 to the KAT-500 and a second Aux cable from the KAT-500 to the KPA-500.
The Y adapter is only needed if one is connecting additional hardware like the PR-6 (DIGOUT1 control) or an FSK interface (FSK and PTT). 73, ...
