Fred, I only felt bad for a few moments but after a flood of responses all saying the same thing (check RX ant enable) I realized that this was likely a more common problem instead of thinking that I was a clown not knowing immediately what it was.
But, the worse part is how stumped I was at first. I was staring at the K3 display looking for some clues. I checked the Antenna to make sure I was on Ant1 (I don't have anything on Ant2 but that would have affected TX anyway) but while looking at Ant1 display on the K3 I saw the RX displayed right next to it. I remember saying to myself "What is that doing there?". For some reason, of all the past times I stared at that K3 display screen looking for the problem I was oblivious to the fact that RX antenna was enabled. I then disabled it and went to the computer to post a message to the board that I found the problem only to see Rick's message pop up right in front of me at that very moment. 73, phil, K7PEH On Mar 3, 2013, at 8:58 AM, Fred Smith <m...@mo-net.com> wrote: > Phil > > Don't feel bad I did the exact same thing this morning, had my receiving > antenna on when on 160m then went to 20m same thing. > > It took me 15 min to find what I had done all the time right in front of me. > > 73, > Fred/N0AZZ > > -----Original Message----- > From: elecraft-boun...@mailman.qth.net > [mailto:elecraft-boun...@mailman.qth.net] On Behalf Of Phil Hystad > Sent: Sunday, March 03, 2013 10:33 AM > To: Rick Prather > Cc: Elecraft@mailman.qth.net List > Subject: Re: [Elecraft] K3 Attenuation on Receive of 20 meter band only > problem. > > Rick, > > I just now discovered the RX antenna on.
