Another problem is that the paint colors are actually variable. I can go out to my resistor stash, and find 'orange' bands that range all the way to brown. This isn't my color vision causing a problem. It could be aging of the paints they use, a lack of standardization of color, etc. And look at a resistor that's been overheated for a long time. Red goes to brown, orange goes to brown, green goes to brown, etc. The ohmmeter generally doesn't get confused by color differences, but I guess that doesn't help for inductors. 73, George T Daughters, K6GT CU in the California QSO Party (CQP) October 4-5, 2014 ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to arch...@mail-archive.com
