The new, resonant antenna performs well.  It is much quieter than the doublet I have constructed as an inverted-V.  I compare one to the other when I locate a signal and find the resonant antenna works very well.  The real test will be to see where my signal 'lands' across the US and Canada during the Sunday nets.

This statement makes no sense. It may be convenient, but antennas optimized per band work better than simple one-size fits all solutions. In this context, "work better" means you're louder and hear better.
