Yes, I believe you're right, Andy. At least the CI-V is capable of including frequency data - but KAT doesn't read it.
The KPA does read band data, presumably from voltage. 73 Lyn, W0LEN -----Original Message----- From: elecraft-boun...@mailman.qth.net [mailto:elecraft-boun...@mailman.qth.net] On Behalf Of Andy Durbin Sent: Sunday, August 01, 2021 2:15 PM To: elecraft@mailman.qth.net Subject: [Elecraft] KAT500/KPA500 with IC-7610? "The only downside to using Icom gear with the KPA/KAT500 is that Elecraft does not "read" the frequency "voltage" indicator and therefore does not preset the tuner to the correct values without transmitting." KPA500 only needs to know the band but KAT500 needs to know the actual frequency within the band. Isn't ICOM band voltage exactly that - a band indicator not a frequency indicator? To implement the interface properly you'd have to know the exact TX frequency which I think could be extracted from CI-V data. 73, Andy, k3wyc ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to l...@lnainc.com ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to arch...@mail-archive.com
