Yes, I believe you're right, Andy.  At least the CI-V is capable of
including frequency data - but KAT doesn't read it.

The KPA does read band data, presumably from voltage.

KPA500 only needs to know the band but KAT500 needs to know the actual
frequency within the band.  Isn't ICOM band voltage exactly that - a band
indicator not a frequency indicator?

To implement the interface properly you'd have to know the exact TX
frequency which I think could be extracted from CI-V data.
