to me mailing a check on June 19th.
I included a photo of the check and envelope in an email on the 19th.
After that; all email communication ended!! A follow up email the next day,

nothing.
It was then I called the bank and put a "stop payment" on the check.

I don't know what experience you have with US Mail, but ours has been that it can take WEEKS for mail to get to its destination, or it can arrive in a few days. USPS managed to lose our CA tax return that we sent Priority or Certified; last we heard after three weeks was that it was in Minnesota on its way from Santa Cruz, CA to Sacramento, CA. Going on the fourth week, we mailed a duplicate return. No check was included with either mailing.

It's not at all uncommon for mail to take 4-5 days to get to its destination. And, as you may have heard, mail is handled both by humans and by machines. Both are well known to screw up.

Further, June 19 is a Federal holiday, thus a mail holiday, so mailing it on Monday is like mailing it on Tuesday, and most mail doesn't move beyond the local post office until that night.

IMO, there is FAR too much mistrust of our fellow man, and the blame gets spread between certain politicians, predatory media, and social media (what we used to call gossip when we were kids).
