Also, MIL-C-39012 has many qualified N crimp connectors.

Further these crimp RF connectors appear to be qualified for use on the International Space Station from what I can tell (lots of reference links to follow).

As I said in the initial post, you must use the correct tool and connector and if you do it properly the result will be a high quality connection.

And, it isn't a friction fit -- it's actually closer to  cold welding.
